Grandpa Tuttle's Marinated Chicken

One of Tad's favorite dinners is his dad's marinated chicken. Their whole family starts salivating when they hear they get this for the next family dinner. And one of the best parts is that it's such an easy thing to make!
Tad's daddy is a little unpredictable. He's been known to put plant pots on his head and speak Chinese gibberish. Ok, so that was just one time, but I'll be darned if I ever let him for get it! He runs marathons, loves camping-and I mean hard core/hike 20 miles into the mountains/go in the dead of winter camping-, and is a master dutch oven chef. He's actually the nicest guy you've ever met, who I often refer to as 'a good 'ol country boy'. He loves to eat older fashioned things like bread soaked in milk or cracked wheat (which he refers to as 'the real macoy').
Wes was his first grandchild and he's really grown into the roll of Grandpa. Wes absolutely loves playing with him, especially now that he's getting bigger (Wes, not grandpa). He's finding out that Grandpa is a regular wilderness man, and a wiz at making jimmy-rigged games and toys. It wont be long before Grandpa is taking him 4-wheeling and kayaking! Anyways, back to the chicken.

Grandpa Tuttle's Marinated Chicken

1/4 cup worceshtershire sauce
3/4 cup soy sauce
2 cups 7up
1 cup oil (vegetable or canola)
1/4 tea garlic salt

Combine all ingredients in large bowl. Add chicken. Marinate for at least 10 hours (overnight if possible). Grill it and enjoy.

Like I said, super easy, and it's super awesome! Give it a try and remember to say a silent thank you to Tad's daddy. :)

  3. I had no idea about Tad's dad. I guess the sling in the picture is a testament to his wildness. :)
